Portable A/C + Casement Window? I have a casement-style window... I'm planning on purchasing a portable nouns...

I have a casement-style window... I'm planning on purchasing a portable nouns conditioner and I was wondering if I could simply stick the tube out the window, and enjoy it hanging out the window. I'm not aiming to own it look nice or anything, I just want it work and be able to cool down a small room.
A suitable substitution for cotten wax strips?
Answers:    The portables come beside an adapter to fit a normal double hung window. You can style it to a casement by sticking it in the skylight just before it closes completely and later packing whatever around the window.
