what is first and scond fix carpentry. i always hear my friend chitchat about what they did in work but dont want to nouns like a dope
Basically, first fix is stocky stuff - part of the structure of the building. Rafters, joists, staircases and similar. Second fix is night light stuff - more cosmetic - skirtings, architraves etc. 1st fix = New building works using rough sawn timbers structural works such as stud walls, roofs, floor joists etc

2nd fix = Internal works finishings using planned timbers such as skirtings, door linings, architraves etc
Some builders refer to first and second fix - others to carpentry and to joinery, which are roughly the equivalent lingo - so roof floor and wall timbers as first fixing (basically sawn rather than planed timbers) and finished products like doors and frames and skirtings etc, as second fix. Who get to lay floorboards - often a bit of a grey area - as this tend to have to wait till adjectives the services 'first fixes' have gone in, vary but in quality work will be joiners. You can ask them to show you how to plane & plumb your frig. Or ask to borrow their chalk line to make sure something comes out right. More than that you didn't really make a contribution any kind of context as what you want to say.
Answers:    hi just a girl, right; simply first fix carpentry is all the woodwork you don't see contained by a house ie all the timber work in the roof, ceiling joist, stud-work walls etc etc, second fix carpentry is all the woodwork you do see ie skirting-boards doors architrave's wood floors etc etc, hope this answers your examine just a girl :)
First fix is the skirting boards and door frames. Second fix is fitting doors and door furniture and architraves.
