First of adjectives, I use a heat gun to remove old-fashioned paint from exterior clapboards and window frames. I next sand the area, once I enjoy removed the paint with a paint gun and scraper. For fanlight frames, I hold the gun away from the window pane, so the heat doesn't crack the cup, but makes the paint plyable plenty to scrape rotten.

Always refer to manufacturer's instructions and follow them, to ensure that the paint will adhere to the surface evenly and endow with you the required finish. Also, by following these instructions, and the paint fails, you are covered beneath their warranty!
