So my bathroom toilet broke about a year ago. My dad fixed it but immediately it flushes by itself every 15 minutes. My water bill have doubled and i need to know if anyone have any idea what could be cause this and maybe how to fix it. Don't administer answers like "send for a plummer" Any Einstein could say that, but i want to revise how to fix it.

You have a slick at the flapper (the part that lift up when you flush). To test this, flush the toilet and when the flapper go back down, pour contained by a couple cups of coffee (liquid only, no grounds) and tolerate it fill. After going on for 15 minutes, look in the bowl and see if the discolored marine is there. Replacing a flapper is smooth since it just "clips" onto the overflow tube next to two ears. Turn off the marine supply under the toilet, flush, disconnect the cuff, remove the flapper and take it next to you to purchase a new one.
