I hope you could help me gratefulness with an analysis of whats happening gratitude.
Answers: Like everyone else has stated, buy a up to date one because it's not worth repairing, especially if you're not in the mood to unmount, disassemble, reassemble and consequently rehang. It MIGHT be the magnetron, but there's almost half a dozen components that can mete out your microwave's symptom should any one of them fail (thermal fuse, diode, capacitor, transformer, etc.).
If it's below warranty, you might be able to acquire a GE service tech out to field try-out it for you. They'll most likely report to you what's gone bad (and relate you it will cost x-amount of dollars to repair) and you can service it yourself at that point because you'll know which part to replace. Or a short time ago pay them to do it for you at a rate of in the order of $50 an hour with the slice possibly free.
If you do attempt to repair yourself, be mindful of the capacitor -- it can kill you if discharged properly. Good luck.
it is buggered get a clean one
