My Garbage Disposal Does not work. I unjammed it but it just hums. Can anyone help?
There is a reset swith on the bottom - try pressing it.
DO NOT TURN IT ON WITH YOUR HAND INSIDE
There is also a place to put a tool in the bottom to hand turn it - an allen wrench I believe. If you can manually turn it - not near power on, then it should be clear of obstructions.
After resetting it and manually turning it, try again. If it still a moment ago hums, might need to replace it.

You will need a 1/4 Allen wrench in most cases, every disposal I hold worked on anyway, then insert the wrench into the socket at the center of the bottom of the disposal, turning it both directions until the disposal is spinning freely, turn the disposal on it should be running.
If you hear a buncha noise clanking around merely turn the disposal off, fill up the sink next to hot water, lift up the sink stopper and turn the disposal on. The hose pressure should suck down anything thats in there, unless its something close to a penny, then you will have to use some tongs or syringe nose to dig it out, I would recommend securing the power back digging crap out though.

If it just hums, it is not unjammed. There is a hole contained by the bottom for an allen wrench to turn the blades manually. Make sure it is turning freely before applying power to it.
