Any UK Floorlayers or Carpetfitters able to submission advice on applying a`Wicks` Laytex self level compound over a mastic asphalt sub-floor!
The instructions state -`subfloor must be clean dry free froom any loose matter and contaminatants such as grease or thick adheasive residue and next to P.V.A.
Now, here is my delima, the sub floor had be completly painted right up to skirtings with a vinyl silk emulsion, using container scourers I have surrounded by a fashion removed some and its difficult and I am worried I may fashion whats left unstable for the compound to grip. Consequently, am I fine to walk off the paint {paint is in terrifically good condition} on and use the self level compound over the top or best to continue to remove paint?
Answers appreciated thankfulness
Answers: Would say that if the paint surface is as not easy to remove as you say, and that you hold got as much loose ruins up as possible thatn the compound should lay fine. I asked my brother about this (he's a builder) and he said they lay compound on adjectives sorts, as long as the ground is solid you should be fine.
as long as its latex you will have no problem
