ok, here is what i am looking for, i have an outlet on a switch to be exact in a really discouraging location, and i am looking for something (without any rewiring, as i live in an apartment) that i could plug into the switched outlet that could detect when the outlet is helpful, and turn on another outlet using another plugin, such as for a lamp. roughly what i am looking for is a "wireless extension cord" (and no i dont mean the ThinkGeek April Fools Day ones, although, if they in truth rethunk it, and actually put power to it, it would work-not putting power thru the "air")

Answers:    I own never heard of anything close to you are looking for, a "wireless extension cord". The only route I can think of that you could do what you're trying to do is to trace the wires from the switch to the outlet and beyond. It's possible that they are adjectives on the same circuit, and that a 14-3 be run through the outlet box to the rest of the outlets downstream. It would be best to have an electrician follow the wires to see what you hold. Sorry I couldn't be of more assistance.
