Know anything in the region of RO systems? Which clogs up the filter quicker (undersink RO) --soft or firm hose down? Experienced Reverse Osmosis users/installers only, please.

Answers:    I am assuming you know what osmosis is, and thus can deduct what reverse osmosis is. Only in the region of a quarter (25%) of the water that go into a RO unit comes out as fitting water. The others is directed to the drain. The membrane within the unit allows single water to go beyond through, albeit, very slowly. The other marine is washed away to the drain, taking beside it alot of the impurities surrounded by the water. Since the membrane is mortal continuously washed, it take a very long time to clog up the membrane. You can even further extend this time by putting a particulate filter upstream of the RO.

But to answer your quiz, since water is "hard" because of particulate minerals such as cacium and magnesium and iron, the sturdy water would clog your filter faster. Water is "soft" when these minerals own been removed by an ionic exchange contained by a resin bed.
