Kenmore Dishwasher Installation Dimensions (Height)? I'm interested in buying a Kenmore Elite dishwasher (http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_12605......
I'm interested in buying a Kenmore Elite dishwasher (http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_12605... ). I currently own a GE model in a standard space below my counter. The height for the brand new dishwasher from the Sears Web site is 34.5 inches. Other dishwashers on the Sears website list height under 34 inches (like 33 7/8 inches). It appears that my counter is only just about 34 inches high.
I measured the dishwasher and it appears to be able to fit, but it's a situation where on earth it was close ample that I don't really want to take the risk that it won't fit. One factor is the reality that I would have to pay packet a 15% restocking fee if I enjoy to return the unit.
I tried calling Kenmore and stopped after I be given 4 different numbers to try. I hope someone here has some insights.
Thanks.
Answers: Consider that your counter have a top on it. The base cabinet should be standard at 34" from floor to top of cabinet. On top of specifically the counter. If this is preformed countertop, the type you get next to built in backsplash, at hand is room for the dishwasher to fit. There is usually at least 1/2" play contained by the bracket that holds the front of the washer to the bottom of the counter top edge. You use one of two screw to make that attachment. That holds the washer within place when you open and close the door and prevents tipping.
In ornament, most all DW hold adjustable feet for leveling and these are commonly used to raise or lower the entire element.
If you have problems installing by trying to slide the part straight from your floor to the opening, you can tip the component up in front, slide the backbone into the opening, afterwards allow the front to touch the floor and you should be in almost dependable fit.
All this assumes you do have standard sized cabinetry.
I enjoy never had a problem and enjoy installed at least ten DW over the years within remodels and my own place.
The pesky thing is the hose down hookup elbow. Make absolutely sure you use plumber's cartridge to the very stop of the elbow where it meet the supply line, especially if you are using a flared strip. You probably won't get the queue fully onto the threaded elbow, but you need the cassette out at the end to avoid hose down leaks.
Good luck.
If your cabinet are standard 34.5" height most dishwashers will work. Things to appropriate into consideration are, flooring laid after the cabs which reduces the plane of the opening. Most stores will agree to you remove the dishwasher from the displayer and measure it beside an associate's help.
Make the associate earn his/her commission and check this potential issue out back you buy.
And yes, the feet are adjustable so I am almost positive you will be fine.
