Is this commonplace? My stove have a strange looking outlet- round next to 3 angled prongs not the average 3 pronger.?
Are you motto it has a receptacle on the stove for something else to be plugged into?
Could be some accessory for the stove that requires 220 volts. That is run of the mill for an electric stove. It is to ensure the proper amperage and 220 voltage.
I hope you hold a place to plug that plug. That is for a 220 240 volt plug. It is an electric range correct. If you have no place to plug it afterwards you have to get an electrician to install one or correct stoves to gas. Gas stoves have the regular three prong plug in for the ignite and other things on it but the big three prong with the angled prongs on it is for 220 volts and the stove is just electric i.e. a standard plug for it and there is nothing strange nearly it at all. If by normal 3 pronger you aim dryer plug. Its because the stove must have a 50amp outlet while the dryer needs with the sole purpose 30amps.Your 110v outlet is only rated at 15amp.
Answers: Electric stoves and dryers all have this hefty plug.
If you're considering moving and taking your stove beside you, you'll want to confirm that the new house is set up for an electric stove as well.
That's a 220V outlet, just like for electric dryers. The newer outlets own 4 prongs now. sounds like it wants 212volts
