Is their truly a 'clear' shellac that someone can buy. Zissner is a great product but its "clear" shellac is actually slightly tinted...I needed a gooey shellac that is 'transparent' ...totally clear.

Answers:    Shellac'c color is base on it's degree of decorum. "Super blonde" is the most transparent: others get increasingly amber. The freshest shellac you mix yourself from dried flakes beside an alcohol base. You can draw from them in woodworking or possibly some paint stores. Unless you enjoy a real requirement to use shellac, polyurethane or lacquer offer a more transparent surface next to equal or better protection.
Go to a craft store like Michaels...they hold completely transparent shellac there.
