Starting a clothing company, and I wanted to know if it's 100% nesscery to hold a serger to ensure the seam stays put, or is there another channel around this?
Answers: Personally, I feel approaching it depends on your use and what your making.
I have a serger, a quilt apparatus, and a regular sewing machine. I love them adjectives. I use my serger for kids whole flannel quilts and my kids clothes and/or anything that will requirement a nice tight seam with 4 layer of thread to make it stand up to the torture exam. ((I believe some better sewing machines may have this facet to though.)) My machine also optionally cuts as it creates the seam rank, which helps speed up the process.
As a side make a note of, if you've never used one, Sergers are a pain to rethread - mine have 4 threads to thread and it's a real undergo and very time consuming if one breaks.I still read out that's why things hold up better though. My suggestion is you need to move about to a reputable dealer for sewing machines, close to a Brother dealer (two of my machines are Brothers because I close to our local dealer's warrenty that comes with the machines they get rid of - 25 year on major parts and labor, plus they do repairs in-house), I resembling dealers that put a bet on their product up with personal assistance and have knowledge of the machines and will run time to sit down with you if you inevitability help and can sustain you pick the machine that's right for you - if you have need of one even.
I believe it would be especially helpful to you if you can find a marketer and try one out before buying so that you can play near it a little bit and will know if it's the right choice for you. Most sewing tool showrooms will have one you can check drive to see if you like it.

i wouldnt say its 100% nesscery but i regard it would up the quality of the clothes, so i would recommend it
