I have used graphite spray to lube up the keyhole on deadbolts and other locks earlier but is there a substitute that would work to be exact cheaper or easier to attain? Would a normal number 2 pencil work if the graphite surrounded by that was crushed up and blown contained by the keyhole?
Silicone spray will also work. Stay away from WD-40 and any other petrol based sprays it will collect dirt and ruin your locks.

Answers:    The pencil will work. Do not use a liquid or spray, they end in the dirt to form mud in the lock.
