I am installing new pine trim throughout my house. There are two spots where on earth I will have one long peice of trim over two different floors. I don't know what to do where on earth my carpet meet the vinyl in my kitchen. the hearth rug is 3/4" higher than my vinyl. If I run one peice of trim down the wall I will have a huge distance between my vinyl and my trim. I feel my one and only option is to butt two peices together at different height where the two floors get together.
I also have duplicate problem right on two outside corners. the south facing wall on the corner is at carpet increase. the east facing wall is vinyl height. Iam at a total loss how to bring in this look good!!! I go over my budget to get nice wood trim, I cannot afford to receive any mistakes and throw away good trim!!!!
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!! THANX!!
Answers: means the height difference between the floors. cut the bottom of the trim on the great floor to match the shorter floor. rip or cut the difference out of the bottom along the lenght of the trim on the floor to be precise highest after the tops will match. rem. to cut the trim on a 45 disparate ways so they will be flush. do the same point with the corners if that dosent work cut the mat about one partly inch from the wall and bevel the bottom of your trim so it will pinch the carpet put a bet on down nail it call for it a day
cut a especially small piece at a 45 degree angle to construct it rise to the upper level.
