yes it is more difficult, because when it is hung vertically it falls straight on it's own.
hint- don't try it on your own, carry other people to abet you.

Hanging wall paper is other hard and I regard as this makes it harder. If it is rag with a outline, or the room is an awkward shape, try employing an expert if you can afford it.
Out of interest, why do you want to put it up horizontally?
I'm a decorator, What do you want to cross splash your walls for? If it is a pattered or finishing rag then you wont know how to match it up.There is no point within putting lining newspaper up this way unless your going to put a finishing quality newspaper over it. As for hanging it the difficulty is in the region of the same
I consider you're going to have to be precise when creating the pulp for this one and make sure you enjoy more than one person to abet otherwise the paper won't set to the wall near just you alone.
Wallpaper is designed to go vertical so it'll be vastly interesting if you pull this rotten (or put it on- haha!).

The most significant tip is to get a moral spirit level, if you don't you will train up in a mess, dont buy a cheap one, and don't buy one smaller amount than a metre in length.
Start by measure about an inch smaller quantity than the width of the tabloid, from the ceiling and draw a line beside the help of a friend across down the room, put up the first piece and work downwards.
Don't try and paper round the corner of the room, of late go round roughly an inch, and then when you come to treatise the adjacent wall, only overlap each sheet as you dance down.
It shouldn't be too difficult if you have someone to make available you a hand as you jump across the room
