What web site should I go roughly speaking looking to do so?? How do you go about doing this?? What are the steps I involve to take??
any local hardware fasten will have books with home plans as for as building..a honest framer and crew.a great concrete company..repetable plumbers and electriction..or go with an overseeor hi heather ...if you told us what country you are living within ...it would help as so far all your answers are guesses...
If you enjoy no experience with building, which is what it sounds like, I would HIGHLY recommend conversation to some people in your nouns that have built homes using a contractor (not to be confused with a mass produced home builder) and bring their opinions on which contractor to use. You really don't want to try to oversee this project yourself or you will end up spending far more than the $20k most contractors charge to babysit. The longer your house take to build the more you spend in interest. You also run the risk of subcontractors leaving you sagging on some small parts. I have seen A/C unit left without power because the electrician and HVAC subs both enunciate its not their job. it sounds like your latest to building.

you have about a million choices immediately a days.
brick home, mud home, rammed earth home, straw,
almost adjectives materials

some homes are pre-built and shipped.

I say the best is brick.
but brick can be weak or strong (new buildings r cheap)
I prefer 2 layer of brick like the old timers used to do.
(its call common brick) and can be purchased used

Depending on your area, you may entail a permit
to do anything. a general contractor can oversee
and ensure your home is up to code.

city lecture theatre and local library has code books for your area
don't read them (WOW its like mad to read)

you will have millions of choices to make.
but this will serve.

*decide on a home (look at homes)
*set a budget
* Locate a builder or developer (Easy to find)
*get lots of estimates
* check the b.b.b on the company
*check online reviews on the company
*CHECK THE COMPANY (VERY IMPORTANT)

you will have to decide on counter tops sinks faucets
floors and millions of choices.

location.

Best choice is to find an nouns and buy a house already built.
even this can be a task
good luck

Hope this helps, and enjoy your planning and building!
entail to know what your own wants and needs are, I.E. do i really call for a bathroom and a 12x12 walkin closet for each of my six bed rooms probably not.

next youll have need of a site.
odds are there may be restictions as to what style house you can put their i.e. sand houses need to be on stilts that sort of thing they also want to craft shure your design fits the neighbor hood. they don't want you putting up a geodesic dome in the middle of beaver cleaver ville on a 1/10 th an acre lot
next you'll entail aproved plans from a licecnced bonded that sort of thing structural engineer , they obligation to be aproved by the zoning board

allot of places online already have plans off the shelf you can purchase and use allthough getting them online i wouldn't spend to much for them because they concordat in volume and make plenty of money to initiate with vs the effort they put out & they are god solely knows where if you necessitate support of some kind from them that and you need to be carefull of internet scam.

next you'll need a contractor who have experience in the materials you will be building with ask for refrences pics quoptes that sort of entry

this is by far a not all inclusive list but you should win the picture. also you might want to check out the Faq's on theese sites i provided.
they will be more in depth there they might try and get rid of you on a whole kit or something if you bid up just to get plans but i wouldn't be in motion that way unless it was on of the log cabin,
but in that case i would probably shift with stone veneers over block for the gable ends.
And mdf over foam sheets framed around 6x6's next to a tiber framed roof for the pitched sides with log siding over it all.

the modern materials would be easier and move thermally effiect than logs themselves and you would enjoy more options because of not limmiting yourself to to just useing logs

best of luck to you
