I hold an ipod and it's connected to the usb cable and plugged to the computer, but it's broken. the usb cable is plugged to the computer and my ipod...

the usb cable is plugged to the computer and my ipod can charge but there's no connection nouns that would let me know it's connected. so what can i do to verbs songs and sync it? do i have to receive a new computer? a unsullied ipod? or what?

it said "firewire is not supported. To transfer songs, connect the usb cable provided"

its connected (plugged) but it doesn't manufacture any connection nouns that lets me know the usb cable is contained by the computer. all it can do is charge but i can't sync anything... relief??
