I need to know which Honeywell thermostat would replace the Janitrol thermostat. I own a Goodman furnance and a Janitrol HPT 18 60 thermostat and want to replace it with a Honeywell digital thermostat.

Answers:    I've checked the Web a bit and can't appear to find any cut sheets for the Janitrol - I do see some sites with cached forums on electric wiring for these units. Bottom stripe - you should be able to use, pretty much, any of the residential, programmable stats that Honeywell sell. The issue becomes whether or not you'll take to mean which wire go where, when it comes time to verbs. It won't be a 'drop in' type situation.
Perhaps, post the question to Honeywell customer service - see if they can be of assistance.

Look at the matured thermostat and see how many wires you own going into from the back. Use that as your guideline, but most of the Honeywell's will whip the 4, 6 or 7 wire systems. To clear sure, read the back of the Honeywell box for the compatibility. I hope this helps you.
