i have mastered a smooth stucco finish(through practise) but a friend of mine requirements me to plaster a wall for him and wants a rough or textured stucco finish. can someone let somebody know me how you would go something like this please? do you need a special tool after floating up?
Answers: With a 6" trowel apply "thin" layer of mud in a partially circle fashion, over lap as you go. Go over this mud back it dries holding the trowel as close to parallel to the wall as possible creating a knock down type look. Let dry and apply again two or more times. The more layer the more texture and depth.
Prime the walls to seal the mud.
Pick finished overall color. (Need obscurity and light shade of this color)
Water down dark color and wash into holes and recess with sponge. Let dry
Lightly dry brush lighter shade and blend paint strokes beside dry sponge.
Finish with white paint on dry sponge to verbs overall paint color.
use a short nap roller. they also engender combs if you want a combed pattern, it will pocket some practicing to get it down. they also formulate a textured stucco out of the container
