i am a decent diy guy at my own house, but my friend, who is blind, wants help near his own house. mostly stuff i can do easily, similar to drywall and fence issues, but he requirements help beside concrete- he has a steel frame next to poured concrete floors entrance stairwell and small porch, like five by four, and it's crumbling away, the surface is disintegrating. no cracks, but falling apart. doesn't much business what it looks like, but what can i do to preserve the present structure as long as possible? it be only laid three years ago and very soon he's tracking concrete into his house! thanks!
Answers:    Go to Home Depot, ask for the "filler and surface" for concrete repair, it shouldn't embezzle much more then a small from for this. Make sure you hold all the loose stuff sour and cleaned, wet it some past pouring.
sounds like the concrete froze previously it dried--when it was poured--the slabs are probably simply bout 2 or 3 inches thick--and they did nt put any reinforcement in them..so the best entity to do -is to break them out and repour them--you dont have to do adjectives of them at one time-- be sure to put a light broom finish --going long prudent of the step--you can use sack crete to repour them---grinding wont help-- because the concrete comes to the top of the metal frame--so any grinding will cause a low place on respectively step---and will hold water--which will cause more flaking of the concrete,,no sealer is needed because this will produce the steps to be slippery when wet
