I have a tall wooden revenue (pressure treated fence board construction) that bangs rear legs and forth in it's latch.

The gate singular opens one way (from the pay for to the front yard) but when the wind is gusty it bangs pay for and forth making a loud banging sound against the proceeds (and therefore the house).

Any ideas on how to hold on to the gate steady while still being competent to open the gate freely?
Tie a rope to the gate and another fixed point next hang a weight. If near is no room for that you may be able to attach a spring. Don't swipe one from your neighbors trampoline. Or your brothers old chest verbs excercizer. get a latch

I like things simple, I would probably just push a plant surrounded by a pot big enough to hold the gate shut, but flowing enough to move when I wanted to head off ( and small enough that the gate could shove it if disappearing from the back yard.) Or I don`t know you could glue some foam in the cracks that would stay when it be open but would keep it from moving surrounded by the wind. I know -maybe fix a flat put on it, let it dry for a second next open your gate and hopefully it will stay and trade name a seal when you shut it again. Actually I think I would stick to my plant concept! put somthing heavy infront of it so it dont move, like a rock or u can sledge hammer a stake into the ground infront of it, but u would have to remove the stake every time u go to get underway the gate, a rock is best because u can just slide it infront of the total admission money and remove it without much work
Answers:    Try putting rubber nouns between the gate and where it bang.
