Has anyone successfully drilled a hole for a soap dispenser in a porcelain enameled style iron sink? It would need to be in the region of 11/2" diameter. I can't imagine it's assured even if it can be done.

if you cannot afford to buy a sink beside the built in hole, what make you think you can bring in a hole in something beside no experience?

go to home depot and buy a vari-bit or a step bit surrounded by plumbing or elecric. make a 1/8" pilot hole next to titanium or cobolt bit. go slow beside your step bit and keep it cool beside anti-freez or wd40. i have drilled hundreds this approach!
