Is it complicated pan, or is it rock! May need to rent a jackhammer or an auger to be capable of break through it.
You may have to conclusion up renting something like an auger - post hole digger, or a power hammer which is simply a jack hammer. Especially since you can not break through with your digging public house. The problem with the auger is that if you don't have ample weight on it then you are going to own the same problem with the digging lump, it will just sit in the hole and spin short doing any actually digging, so you might want to recruit some friends to give a hand you if you go that rout. Good Luck Go to your local hardware store and buy an extension for your drill and drill several holes with the largest bit you hold. If this doesn't help by itself then try the hose trick; the water will soak through the holes you drilled. Hope this helps.
Answers: that is to say probably a good base for a post if you cant bust it up next to your bar
