I am making a 10X10 Outdoor Slab It will hold my Grill and be partialy covered. I might put a chair or 2 on it. But no solid weight. I will use Gravel as my underside, then plastic and chain.
Thanks in finance!
Answers: 3 1/2 " is sufficient,8-10" is freakin overkill, ans a waste of money. a 3 1/2" gooey slab will more than handle the counterbalance you described plus a set of chairs/table and people.craft sure you use 6x6#10 welded line mesh, and when you pour pull it up stale the ground so that it runs inside your concrete, some rebar on the corners may not hurt either.
I'm a building inspector within the state of wisconsin and for that size and weight on it 3" would be OK.
