Answers:    I presume you have to own a certain little plate.Then you basically take out the straight plate(the footplate) and put that one surrounded by. That's how mine works,but it's a Kenmore.

I am not sure what type of attachment you have....But mine simply pops on after I disengage the walking foot and remove the presser foot....I hope this helps....Good Luck
