I have white tile beside dark grey grout within my bathroom. I am thinking of remodeling the bathroom next year, but needed to know if there be a DIY way to peroxide the grout color. Can I just re-grout next to a lighter color? Will that work? Any recommendations on how to do it or products to use would be much appreciated. The grey grout looks dirty and I am a well turned-out freak so no worries about keeping white grout verbs. Thank you!
Answers: NO, you cannot change the color of the grout, you hold to grind out all of the existing grout first, afterwards apply new, sorry.
Dremel make a tool especially for the operation, but be aware it is a dust job.
Hope this help . . .
The grout for your bath room should enjoy an additive to prevent it from growing mold. From what you are describing that is to say what your old grout is doing. Grout can be colored any color you want basically go to your local home depot, lowes, home hardware etc.. and ask give or take a few the already colored grout, specify that you want it for your bathroom. If you like your own color development just return with the grout with the chemical addition and get the coloring on the side. I would recommend the already colored grout merely because is much more easier to match than making your own color. Good luck and don't cheap out, because if you do you will conclusion up spending twice as much latter. By the way yes you do hold to remove the old grout, any chisel it out(not recommended if is your first time doing it) or grind it out using a diamond blade on your grinder. DO wear a mask, goggles and clothes that you will be trowing away once you are done the whole position. Grout has particle that are highly harmfull to your lungs and can result in respiratory problems.
