That symbol is call a tilde. If you are working on a computer in a paper document you can apply the ASCII code for an n with a tilde, which is the following:
Hold down the Alt. switch while you type 0241 on you numbers key wipe.
If you are in Microsoft Word document, run to Insert Menu and select Symbols. From that box select the symbol you want to add to you document.
