dont use manufactured wood result in it is coated anti-rot substance. rub 2 sticks together so it will take less time.
Great Answer Bandit!
I would also add that if you are going to have hot a hot fire, collect stones to surround that haven't be continuously submersed in water, resembling a creek for instance. As the rocks become hotter the steam from the inside will need a place to escape and many times they will spall, sending flying chunks of rock, possibly toward those enjoy the fire. :) Obviously u will need to get wood lacking coating on it. usually if u go to walmart in the gardening partition they sell those. the rocks are for putting around the pit to make it past the worst. U will need to put 4 to 5 piece of wood inside the pit which is surrounded by the rocks. Then u get two more pieces of wood and rub them against it. U put one piece of wood straight down pointing toward the pile of wood. and consequently rub the other piece of wood horizanntly to the piece of wood pointing down. after about 3 minutes of fast FAST rubbing it should arrest a spark and start a fire. But if that doesnt work u could always use a flint and get a spark.
Answers: Find a small flat stone with a depression in it that will fit surrounded by your hand to use as a spinning block. Next, take a significant piece of wood that can be used as a base. It needs to be long satisfactory that you can hold it in place when kneeling down on it while using it as a remains for your fire starter. Use your knife and drill and indentation in the wood to receive a pointed stick. Cut a small groove (so the stick won't slip into it) to allow the residue to fall through to the side.
Take a straight stick about 18" long and whittle the ends to dull points. Take another stick roughly speaking 18" long, cut a small notch about 1" from respectively end to tie your boot lace or shoe string to so it wont slip. Tie your boot lace to the stick tight enough to raison d`¨ētre it to bend about 1-2" . Next twist the first stick into the bow string so it loops around it.
Take some dry shavings (tinder) lint from a cotton sock works well-mannered too mixed with the shavings. Place a ball of tender the size of your fist beside the groove within the base board.
Stand your friction stick up with one wrap up in the hole in the podium board, holding it in place with the small stone on the top pause. Push down on the small stone while drawing your bow back and forth causing the friction stick to rotate.
As the bottom of the friction stick heat against the base board, hot embers will start to build surrounded by the small groove and spill into the tender. When it catches, gently blow the coal into a flame.
Add the flame to a pile of dry dilute sticks, adding larger wood as the fire gets bigger.
Plan the assignment, have everything ready and close at mitt.
Good luck
PS If you start spinning the friction stick with the bow slowly, until the ends shape themselves to the base board and the plam stone, it will work better. Once the bow can be used short anything slipping apart, you can go faster and produce the friction needed to get the residue.
