I am removing my stove in command to lay new tile, but I can't seem to be to break the pipe dope seal on the gas vein. (Yes the gas is off!) What is the best instrument to break this seal?

Answers:    I suggest using a pipe wrench and applying even pressure until it turns. If you don't own the room then us passageway lock pliers.

Note make sure you hold the tool on the pipe the correct way so that as you apply pressure the jaws tighten.

Be punctilious as gas lines have a short nipple on them to be precise threaded both ways. one left paw the other right. Make sure you are turning to loosen and not tighten. The thread dope should loosen easily
