Hi how do you make a wood and rag chinese fan? not the one that you a short time ago fold paper k? I realy want to know cause we enjoy a project and i have to build a anchent chinese fan. Can you lend a hand me as how to make it? Thanks

Answers:    I made one once by using balsa wood cut into strips and next to little holes made with an awl at the top and bottom and consequently used embroidery thread to sew them together so that they would fan out. Someone else contained by my design class did a similar design but used craft sticks (the fat ones close to tongue depressors) and used ribbon threaded through holes in the top and bottom to connect the sticks and follower them out. She also had a bent weekly clip on the bottom through a hole that folded up to lock the sticks in place when not contained by use.

Great answer esk, but in place of the soft balsa, use "Chop sticks". You can buy them at Walmart.
