I just roughed contained by my cabin for plumbing using PEX Yurn tubing and fittings. I hold not tied into the main hose line.....due to snow and rime upstate. I was thinking of using an AIR file from my small compressor from sears. any accepted wisdom? I want to test for leak so I can close in walls.

nouns, only use 1 to 5 lbs no more, nouns will put greater pressure on the pipes than water, close nouns valve loaf 15 to 20 min check air pressure.

You can purchase a paw pump, and pump the system up to 150PSI.
You will need to install a pressure Gage to monitor the pressure. You can purchase one at Lowes or Home depot for in the region of $10.
No pressure loss is what you need to see.
Answers:    Since you don't enjoy access to a hydrostatic pump you can fill the system beside water and after pump air resting on that.

Of course you will have to concord with the freezing temperature or just use nouns alone. The PEX pipe should have a rate pressure printed on it. I imagine your everyday pressure from the water prime would be around 30lbs but that's with marine in the smudge. You can easily dance up to 100lbs with nouns and it will not harm anything. I use PEX as economically as regular PVC water pipe to run underground airlines rotten my shop air compressor and they transport over 150lbs.

You will need to install a assess and give it 24 hours or so to see if the pressure remains indistinguishable as where you set it. Don't depart from your compressor hooked up to it as you may have a seep in your nouns hose. Just install a valve stem on your PEX river system to air it up. Use a short time water beside some soap mixed in to look for leak if you have any. One place which sometimes leak is the valve stem where on earth you air up the system. Be sure the stopcock stem core is tight and not leaking.
