That depends on what type it is and where on earth you live. If it is a jumper valve type consequently replacing the sealing washer may fix it. If not then you will stipulation to re cut the seat.

If you can take a picture of it and put it on photobucket (not sure how) after someone may be able to recognize faucet and answer interrogate Remove the top of the faucet and replace its rubber ring inside the faucet. Screw down the top and check leakage. If it still persists replace the faucet.
