I have only just recovered two hutches that have be stored in my sister's clear garage for the last 15 plus years, you can singular imagine what the veneer looks close to now! In an go to refinish the pieces, how can I safely remove the remaining veneer i.e. still well glue down??? A good portion have already peeled rotten, but there is still seriously of work to be done. These pieces have be in our people for many, frequent years, and I really would love to be able to restore them to a better condition....I will to be sure be taking much better care of them than my sister ever did! Any suggestion is greatly appreciated!

Answers: If these are antique, you should really re-attach the veneer that has come loose. Hopefully adjectives the pieces are still around. Removing the old veneer is not that unyielding, its probably attached with hyde paste, which can be softened with a steam iron (and lots of steam), later gently lifted/scraped rotten with an putty wound. But the question is what are you going to do after the veneer have been removed. The pieces be always intended to be finished that course. There is no telling what the lower woods are.
If you need tips on re-gluing veneer consent to me know.
Hope this helps . . .
boil the parts that are stuck on. Try a hair dryer, torch, iron those kind of things. and you can buy the thin sheets of veneer to replace that explicitly removed. Try the Internet or ask at your local hardware store for info on veneers. Also places that put on the market craft kits for miniature house building and such.
