I have this metal manipulate bar within front of my house that when I touch, I ALWAYS get a static shock. Because of the low humidity and my coat, this seem to always transpire.

What can I do to the metal handle slab to get rid of the shock? Any virtuous suggestions?
Answers:    Ok first off, you're not getting shocked because of any category of charge on the bar, you are getting shocked because you are getting a charge walking on the mat and when you touch the rail you are grounding the charge. Simple solution, is to ground yourself to something else first. This isn't really much of a assist since you'll just go and get the shock when you do that then. Other solutions are to insulate the guiderail so that it won't be a grounding point, some kind of rubber coating will work, electrical cassette for instance. Another would be to raise the humidity height, if this is an outdoor rail again not a appropriate solution
