i saw it on a home improvement show one time... they made it out of wood and covered it w/ matter or whatever... after they screwed it in the wall at the rear the bed.. it looked pretty cool for a headboard on a budget. can someone tell me exactly how to do it? resembling... is there something between the wood and cover? what genus of wood?
Answers:    Very easy

Cut a piece of wood the size and shape you want. Then cover near Batting (thats that white fuzzy stuff, found at a fabric store) cut to give or take a few two inches larger than your wood, then cut the cloth three inches larger than your wood. Lay the material on the floor, lay the bat on top of that and next lay the wood on tap of the bat. Pull the fabric over to the backside of the wood and out of harm`s way with a staple gun. Start surrounded by the center of the top and then across from that within the middle bottom then middle of respectively side. Basically you are wrapping the front side of the piece of wood as you would a gift.
My daughter hung a rattan blind down her bed, I was surprised how potent it was. We covered an infirm door, ourselves because the old chipped flat door be 5.00 at a yard mart and a sheet of plywood is 30.00. We basically glue on foam, wrapped around the edges and built a huge *pillowcase*, (found a great bedspread at ano garage public sale, old curtains would work too) pulled it over and stapled the bottom. My husband hung it on the wall losing the bed with concealed small stainless brackets. Simple!! And total cost was 19.50 including the foam from the discount bin (a) the upholsterer - 3 pieces we glue to the door to make one. For a buttoned effect, we hammer thin brass nail into the thread holes in infirm antique buttons I had be saving.
