Most self propelled mowers do not have an adjustment for controlling how rapid it moves. The only way to speed it up or slow it down is to adjust the motor speed. That is foolish. The mower was adjusted for best performing, power, and gas consumption at the factory. Personally I'd leave it alone. I hold up the handle beside less pressure, or sometimes I use a bungie cord and tie it up. Then sometimes I just chase after it till it's adjectives done. LOL
