Hire a professional..it's not that expensive ..in my nouns it's just 75 dollars ..they are high-speed and professional..they leave no mess ..if you buy the brush to do it yourself.. it runs more or less 75 to one hundred dollars..but then you enjoy to seal sour the fireplace and do the cleaning yourself..

You can do it from the inside. I found using a mixture of windex and baking soda along with one of those spray bottles that attatch to the hose (like for your yard) mix the baking soda and windex and spray a reading light coat over the inside of the fireplace. this will cause the soot to uncling from the side of the fireplace and form into little pellet landing in the fireplace. use a shovel and dipper up the pellets and throw away.
