I had a guy come out to check out our A/C unite and the pipe going to the compressor have a hole and the compressor dose not start dose any one know a way I can fix it my self ?
That's one that I would let the pro fix, he should be able to sleeve the pipe but the recharge of the unit is not legal except by a pro...you are not suppose to drain them...but I own...and then disposed of the unit..but it is wrong If there is a hole in the compressor piping, adjectives the freon has leaked out. It take special equipment to fix AC equipment. Call a AC repairman.

Not for DIY.
Will be an expensive repair if it's a compressor. The line is an easier fix.
Probably $800 - $1000.00 repair.
You might want a second opinion within case they missed something.
A new component would be in order if the compressor isn't surrounded by warranty.
Answers:    What did the service man tell you? You would not know how to repair it yourself because there are specialty tools required to change a compressor and you hold to be licensed to buy refrigerant.
add some kind of wet proof putty to it and that should work.
