I have a garage which we are knock down, thing is near is a cable running from the house supplying the garage with power for lighting etc, how do I take rid of this cable? without calling surrounded by an electrician.Thanks
Answers: I think that some of the answers hold some element of correctness. The being asking the question know zero going on for electrical wiring or they would not enjoy asked this question.
It is a sickening idea for someone who know nothing give or take a few electricity to stick their hands into a service entrance panel (breaker box). They are not even gifted enough to bring in sure the power to the box is off. There are several points inside the box that are still live, even if the fundamental breaker are off.
Stay out of the box. Get someone who know what they are doing. If they have to ask this grill, they don't know enough to be doing this.
Electricity kill. This is not a project to learn on.
Like most others hold already said you need to remove the power to the cable by debut a breaker. I, on the other hand, would not embark on the main breaker, although that's one road you can do it. The problem with that though is that you put to death the power to everything in the house as economically as the shed. I would find out what feeder breaker is supplying the shed and would open that one. Make sure that the circuit is really inert either by using a voltage tester or use some small device (lamp, radio, etc.) that you can plug surrounded by. Just make sure that the device works past you test it on your "dead" circuit. Once the row is dead. Do what you want. I would also remove the wires from the feeder breaker. And as noted previously if you don't understand what I'm proverb, call an electrician.
