Help near mat? the piece of metal that goes between my runner and new flooring...
the piece of metal that goes between my runner and new flooring wants to be nailed into the cement. everytime i try to staple it the nail breaks/ bends. is within a special nail i should be using? is here a special technique to doing this?
you probably need a small masonry pin and you have to hit it frozen a be sure you don"t hit the metal.....It's not real graceful to do if you don't use a hammer profoundly or the cement is not in the best of shape...............
you can try to simply drill some holes with a masonry bit where on earth the nails are going to walk threw and plug ot up with some wood, next just use a regular fastener..........lot easier that way simply takes for a time more time..........
You entail to get the rock-hard nails(nails that have be tempered) that are made for the job you are doing.
There is a tool that have a magnet on one end and the other appendage you hit with your sledge hammer, that way you don't smash your fingers as the nail are really short, then supply the tool on eBay.
Answers: yes there is . contact a hardware storeor a short time ago call a mat layer from the phone book. the best technique is polite aim if you miss the nail and hit the metal strip you will hold to get another.
