Help next to drywall please? We are renting an old house and the drywall to be precise...
We are renting an old house and the drywall to be precise going up the stairs to the attic bedroom has some cracks & it feel loose when you press on it. If I just putty over it I know it would not fix it. The interrogate is can it be fixed without tear it all down & re doing it? The drywall appears to different just done poorly. The rest of the house is plaster so I know this be not original to the house. Thanks for any guidance in credit.
Answers: Let me guess...the owner did it himself. He probably put the screws too reflective. You need to find the studs, probably next to a studfinder, screw in more drywall screw barely into the surface. If you screw the herald through the outer layer into the wall, it won't hold. Then you mash and sand and paint over those.
Instead of trying to fix the drywall, just replace it. It's so much easier. You don't really know what is below the drywall now. That could be where on earth the problem is....better to deal beside it first.
