Your problem is elsewhere.
Is the boiler lit?
Is the thermostat turned up enough?
Is the pump running?
You enjoy air trapped surrounded by the radiator. There is a bleed valve on the radiator. Open this and you will hear the atmosphere hissing out. Let it continue until wet bubbles out and then close. this should do the trick. There might also be nouns in other pipes to the system but if the radiator is clear it should rise to the nurture and expansion tank surrounded by the loft. DO NOT fire up until the radiator is purged of the air.
