Gluing plastic to PVC? I've assembled a PVC potato cannon, and one of the ignitor electrodes...

I've assembled a PVC potato cannon, and one of the ignitor electrodes is surrounded by plastic, and I need to find some type of adhesive to paste it to the PVC. And it needs to be able to withstand the pressure that shoots a potato 100 yard.

PVC glue didn't work, maybe it's just PVC to PVC. Superglue?

PVC "glue" only works after you have used PVC cleaner/solvent. It is a 2 step process. Get a small can of PVC epoxy resin [actually it's called PVC cement] and a small can of solvent. Following instructions, first apply the solvent to both pieces with the built surrounded by applicator...then [again, according to the can instructions] coat both pieces with the cement. QUICKLY push the two together, verbs them slightly to distribute the glue, and QUICKLY position the pieces where you want them. Hold them for 15-20 second, and the glue will set. [Actually it's more of a welding process than glue...but that's just theory, not practice]. Such properly made joint are very strong, and usually all explicitly needed for potato guns.

I don't know of a product that blends or melts or bonds plastic with PVC.. I've hear of plastic weld for plastic and pvc glue for pvc but not one that will bond each to the other.
perchance you can drill a hole in a pvc plug (threaded) and leave a inside sholder to retain the the fitted ignitor and a small center hole for the wires and assemble into feminine threaded PVC fitting
