whats the difference between poured concrete and concrete blocks. which is better? a description of both would be awesome.
blockwork is cheaper and easier to repair should a crack develope and better looking than a poured wall...both will hold a house...not sure why you cant pour a crawl space...
If you are going to enjoy a crawl space you cannot pour, if not , use retainer blocks near re bar, afterwards use 3000 concrete mix to pour.

Answers: I'm not sure what your local codes call for, but you don't own to pour all the cavity full of concrete in a block wall, purely the load points.
Poured concrete is for a moment more expensive, but it installs a little faster and it's stronger. If you're contained by an area of unstable backfill bits and pieces, poured is a better option.
Block foundations are fine though. I use them on my homes. They typically look nicer when they're done and the framers approaching them better because they tend to turn out more level. ( I've never see a poured wall crew pull out a laser).
One more article to consider is that 13 courses of block require 12 " blocks. Poured walls of the same increase only have need of to be 8 inches wide. That's a considerable amount of extra square footage within the lower level.
Good Luck
