Fine thread on plumbing? I am looking for a fitting that is apparently impossible to find....

I am looking for a fitting that is apparently impossible to find. It is a 1" male nouns with fine threading. Not the coarse threading that is usually on galvanize pipe. Any idea what type of threading this may be and if anything is still made with that threading?
What can i ake a smoking pipe from?
Answers:    There is different threads, but the most adjectives are pipe thread, if I remember right is 11 threads per inch.

Then there is compression fittings that have a finer thread.
Then in attendance is hose fittings which is coarser than pipe thread.

It'll help if we had a description of what you are doing.
