In the past I purchased "polished brass" exterior door lock sets and also wall mounted porch lights for my largest entrance to the house. I even spent the extra money to hopefully buy a good aspect product. Unfortunatly, because of the outside elements. sun, humidity etc. the finish on these items no longer look like brass! A callous look in certainty. Okay...now I am replacing adjectives this and I would like to step to a different look, say brushed nickel or such. Should the brushed nickel hold up to the elements better??

I do live road down South so the humidity and heat is a problem. Any recommendation??

Thanks
Answers:    I live in FL and I capture WET if I walk too far South.

Certainly sounds resembling you got Plated; over steel; as is adjectives.

Solid alloys will be more pricey but certainly hold up better; Pewter and Brass work economically. In any case within all shopping; ask, or check for the word "Plated". If you see that; don't buy.
