Electric Stove Connection? My stove is hardwired and I need to know if I should...

My stove is hardwired and I need to know if I should use solder within addition to crimping the terminal connectors. They are #6 beside a 1/4" ring terminal. I have be using just a crimp nouns on the stove for four years but am moving it and thought I would use solder if needed.

Answers:    Hi Erik, As you want to go to the trouble of doing an upgrade, why not install a receptacle and metamorphosis the cord on the stove to a plug in? That route, removal of the range for cleaning or conservation is made easier. It will take possibly a hour of your time, but certainly rescue you time later on. If you opt near leaving it hardwired, I wouldn't solder the connections (in suitcase you need to remove the stove) but bring in certain that your two wires are tightly attached with a 335 or 337 flex nut connector.

You can solder it if you want. You shouldn't need to because the connectors are "supposed" so be satisfactory. Soldering was done contained by the past. Speed is really the simply reason it isn't done today. Solder if you yearning.
