I have this project I've be working on where I enjoy to drill 1" deep 1/4" holes surrounded by concrete for plastic anchors. I'm using spade tipped masonry bits designed for concrete, in a sledge hammer drill but the points are burning off. whats the do business?
Answers:    The concrete is especially hard or the bits you are using are more designed for masonry instead of concrete. There are harder bits made specifically for concrete at commercial supply houses that put up for sale metal track and drywall.
Try pouring water on the bit while you drill to hold on to the bit cool, it should help.
