Damp Bathrooms and Cupboards? Can anybody suggest a product that I can buy that I can...
Can anybody suggest a product that I can buy that I can keep within one of my kitchen cupboards and a bathroom cupboard that will absorb the dank (I seem to take back that you can buy silica boxes or something like that). Does anybody own any experience of using a humidifier in a amazingly damp bathroom and whether it help?
Answers: yes i have used the silica products before- they do work to some extent - but mostly to soak up smells and i didnt catch sight of much of a difference in the atmosphere itself. you can buy these at hardware stores/homedepot/lowes, its cheap to try at around $5-$10 for a bucket.
a DE-humidifier will definately do the trick - but costs anywhere from $80 to $300 on average, normally these are intended for use on larger space such as basement- where on earth there's actual water present, or extreme moisture.
Not what you want: a humidifier will attach more moisture to the air. Moisture = wetness.
In your bathroom you may consider a de-humidifier, a small one. (try ebay- i purchased one cheap there). You may also consider putting in a exhaust or circulating enthusiast to disburst the moisture caused by things such as a shower, a devotee is cheaper and more permanant, but may end up costing you a bit for a electrician if you are not handy.
In your cupboard- a silica bucket should do the trick.
apposite luck
sort the damp problem out. if you are renting approach the proprietor or if you are the owners sort it out yourself
